I just left the Victoria branch and had to leave a review! I met Kasia and Hari, and they were both absolutely wonderful. I’m extremely scared of blood and needles—they usually make me feel sick or pass out . Hari was so gentle and reassuring while taking my blood sample, and Kasia did an amazing job keeping me distracted and helping me stay calm throughout the whole process. It’s so refreshing to meet staff who are not only professional but also genuinely kind, caring, and committed to providing excellent customer service. They made what is usually a very stressful experience so much easier for me. Thank you both for your kindness and compassion. Because of the way I was treated today, I’ll definitely be recommending the Victoria branch to anyone I know who needs blood tests done!!!!!

Component Index

What Is Included?

This profile provides a comprehensive evaluation of how your body processes sugar over a standardized two hour period.

Baseline Glucose Profile

Evaluates your fasting blood glucose level before any sugar is consumed, establishing your metabolic baseline.

Glucose 0′
Clinical focus:
Detecting elevated fasting glucose levels which may indicate impaired baseline insulin response.

Post-Load Glucose Profile

Measures your blood glucose level exactly two hours after consuming a standardized high-glucose solution.

Glucose 120′
Clinical focus:
Assessing how effectively your body produces insulin to clear excess glucose from the bloodstream over time.

Metabolic Diagnosis

The combination of both readings allows clinicians to categorize your glucose tolerance accurately.

Normal Tolerance
Impaired Tolerance
Diabetes Indication
Clinical focus:
Diagnosing diabetes, prediabetes, or gestational diabetes based on established threshold values.

Understanding Your Glucose Tolerance Test

The OGTT provides a more comprehensive assessment than a simple fasting glucose test alone. While a fasting test shows your baseline, the 120 minute post-load test actively challenges your pancreas to produce insulin. This dynamic testing method is highly sensitive for identifying early stage insulin resistance or gestational diabetes before fasting levels become permanently elevated.

How To Read Your Laboratory Results

Your results will list your values alongside standard reference ranges. If a result falls outside the range, it is noted for review. Important: A single out-of-range value does not automatically indicate a medical problem. Results must be assessed in conjunction with your medical history and clinical examination.

Results Timeline: Profile metrics are typically available within just 4 hours of the final sample collection. Once your results are ready, they will be securely shared with you.
