I just left the Victoria branch and had to leave a review! I met Kasia and Hari, and they were both absolutely wonderful. I’m extremely scared of blood and needles—they usually make me feel sick or pass out . Hari was so gentle and reassuring while taking my blood sample, and Kasia did an amazing job keeping me distracted and helping me stay calm throughout the whole process. It’s so refreshing to meet staff who are not only professional but also genuinely kind, caring, and committed to providing excellent customer service. They made what is usually a very stressful experience so much easier for me. Thank you both for your kindness and compassion. Because of the way I was treated today, I’ll definitely be recommending the Victoria branch to anyone I know who needs blood tests done!!!!!

Component Index

What Is Included?

This extensive profile evaluates over 20 critical markers covering hormones, organ stress, and cardiovascular health.

Hormonal Health

Monitors the hormones that influence muscle growth, energy, recovery, and endocrine balance.

Total Testosterone
Free Testosterone Calculated
SHBG
Albumin
Estradiol E2
LH
FSH
TSH
Clinical focus:
Assessing active unbound testosterone, oestrogen conversion, pituitary function, and thyroid status.

Organ Function & Blood

Evaluates liver and kidney stress markers alongside blood count markers linked to oxygen delivery and recovery.

ALT
AST
Gamma-GT
Total Bilirubin
Urea
Creatinine
Uric Acid
Full Blood Count
Clinical focus:
Monitoring filtering efficiency, detecting liver stress, and reviewing oxygen delivery markers.

Metabolic & Lipids

Provides a cardiovascular risk assessment and long-term blood sugar stability check.

HbA1c
Total Cholesterol
HDL Cholesterol
LDL Cholesterol
Triglycerides
Clinical focus:
Identifying lipid imbalances linked to enhancement protocols, diet changes, or extreme caloric surpluses.

Why Free Testosterone Matters

While Total Testosterone measures the overall amount of the hormone in your blood, much of it is bound to proteins like SHBG and albumin. Calculated Free Testosterone gives insight into the unbound, active hormone available for growth and recovery. Testing estradiol alongside it also helps monitor oestrogen conversion.

How To Read Your Laboratory Results

Your results will list your values alongside standard reference ranges. If a result falls outside the range, it is noted for review. Important: A single out-of-range value does not automatically indicate a medical problem. Results must be assessed in conjunction with your specific training load, supplementation regimen, and clinical history.

Results Timeline: Profile metrics are typically available within 4 hours. Once your results are ready, they will be securely shared with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to fast before the Bodybuilder Profile?
Because this profile includes a comprehensive lipid panel and HbA1c testing, fasting for 8 to 12 hours is generally recommended for the most accurate metabolic baseline. Please drink plenty of water.

How quickly will I get my results?
Your comprehensive results are processed quickly and will be ready within 4 hours of sample collection.

Is this a drug screening test?
No. This profile assesses your internal health markers and hormone levels. It is not designed as a doping or anti-doping substance detection screen.

What should I do if my liver enzymes or lipids are elevated?
Elevated markers can result from intense training, specific supplements, or diet. We strongly recommend booking a Private GP consultation to review them in context.

Is the phlebotomy fee included in the price?
No, the £24 phlebotomy service fee is separate and payable directly at the clinic.

Will my results be sent securely?
Yes, your laboratory results will be delivered securely and privately to the email address provided.

Do I need a doctor’s referral for this profile?
No referral is needed. You can book this test independently to investigate your training adaptations and health markers.

Can I train before the blood draw?
Heavy resistance training shortly before a blood draw can temporarily affect markers such as creatinine or AST. Resting or doing light activity on the morning of the test is recommended.

Most Searched Questions About Bodybuilding Health

How do performance enhancers affect the liver?
Many oral supplements and enhancers are processed by the liver, which can cause stress reflected in elevated AST, ALT, and Gamma-GT enzyme levels.

What is the difference between total and free testosterone?
Total testosterone includes all testosterone in the blood, while free testosterone reflects the unbound fraction that is biologically active.

Why monitor estradiol in men?
Testosterone can convert into oestrogen through aromatisation, so monitoring estradiol can help assess possible causes of water retention, mood changes, or gynaecomastia symptoms.

How does heavy lifting affect creatinine?
Creatinine is a waste product related to muscle metabolism. People with high muscle mass or intense training routines may show higher baseline levels than the general population.

Why check lipids during a bulking cycle?
High caloric intake, saturated fats, and some enhancement protocols can affect HDL and LDL balance, potentially increasing cardiovascular risk over time.
